Giorgos Katimertzoglou was born in 1965 in Athens. He began drawing lessons at a very early age with T. Rigas. At the same time, out of interest in Byzantine art, he studied icon painting and collaborated with icon painters such as Petros Vamboulis, Elias Katzas and others. Being fascinated by the mystical tradition of the East, he studied works by Fotis Kontoglou, Papaloukas and others. G. Katimertzoglou is a member of the Greek Chamber of Arts and has presented his works in group and solo exhibitions. His works and mural ensembles can also be found in many churches in Greece, Cyprus and America.
